20 YEARS OF WHEAT PENNIES
The Lincoln Wheat Ear penny, introduced in 1909 for the 100th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth, was the first coin minted with a recognizable portrait. The Wheat Ear obverse continued until 1959, when it was replaced with the likeness of the Lincoln Memorial in celebration of the 150th birthday of The Great Emancipator. The last of their kind, these twenty coins feature one coin each from the years 1939 to 1958. Date specific; includes Certificate of Authenticity.
